I come from a family of insurance agents (my father is one and so is my brother) and now I also own a family agency, with my wife Marti as the agency comptroller.
When someone walks into my office to talk about a new policy, I want to help them make an intelligent insurance decision. So, I try to teach new clients two things:
What it is we are trying to do for them and
What they can do to help themselves.
That is the essence of our partnership with our clients: education through communication.
Not only do I strive to help educate my clients, but my colleagues and I also educate ourselves and our carriers. For example, I am a Certified Insurance Counselor through the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors—a certification requiring over 40 hours of classroom education and tests each year.
We strive to be thorough with clients. For example, if you are seeking information on a new addition, we'll ask some detailed questions, down to the wood framework—are there 2 x 6 studs in the walls or 2 x 4? We're thorough when creating the policy so you won't be underinsured if you need to make a claim.
Ann Arbor has been my home for quite some time. I grew up in Ann Arbor and attended Eastern Michigan University in Business Administration. You'll probably see me around town—I am a member of the Michigan Association of Independent Agents; Pioneer Boosters Board, and Washtenaw Area Apartment Association.
Ann Arbor Insurance is my agency, created using my 21 years in the insurance business. Your happiness as a client is my number one concern. Let's talk.
